Privacy Policy

We collect only what we need to serve you and your dog. We do not sell your information. This explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Last updated: September 2026

1. Information we collect

Information you give us. Your name, email address and phone number when you submit our contact or booking request form. Your dog's name, the program you are asking about, and whatever you tell us about your dog's history and behavior. Anything further you share by phone, email or text. If you book a consultation, the details you enter into our scheduling calendar.

Information collected automatically. Device and browser information such as IP address, browser type and operating system. Which pages you viewed and how you moved through the site. The website or search that referred you, where your browser provides it, including referrals from AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot, Gemini and Claude.

Marketing attribution. Campaign parameters in the web address you arrived on (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content) and advertising click identifiers passed by ad platforms (gclid from Google, fbclid from Meta, msclkid from Microsoft, ttclid from TikTok). We keep the first and the most recent of these in your browser's local storage so we can tell which marketing channel introduced you to us. This only happens where you have allowed it, as described in the cookies section below.

If you complete our form, the attribution details above are attached to your record in our customer system alongside what you submitted.

2. How we use it

To respond to your enquiry, schedule an evaluation or consultation, and provide our daycare, boarding and training services.

To keep you informed about your dog while in our care, and to handle bookings, records and payment.

To send you text messages about your enquiry and bookings, where you have opted in. See the next section.

To understand which marketing channels bring people to us, so we know where our effort is worth spending.

To improve the website and our services, and to meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.

3. Text messages (SMS)

Opting in. Our booking request form includes a checkbox, unticked by default, asking whether you agree to receive text messages from Canine Perspective. Submitting the form with that box ticked is your consent. We record the fact and the date of that consent on your contact record, and the first grant is kept as the permanent record.

What we send. Evaluation and consultation scheduling, booking confirmations and reminders, updates about your dog while in our care, and occasional training information.

Frequency and cost. Message frequency varies depending on your bookings and enquiries. Standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply. We do not charge you for our messages.

Opting out. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us on (773) 661-6762 for daycare and boarding, or (872) 294-4940 for training, or at info@canineperspective.com. After you opt out we may still send messages directly related to a booking you have already made.

Your mobile number and your SMS consent are never sold, rented or shared with third parties for their own marketing. We share your number only with the messaging provider that delivers our messages for us, which is contractually restricted to that purpose.

4. Cookies, tracking, and your choices

We use cookies and browser local storage to remember your preferences, to record which marketing channel introduced you to us, and to measure how the site performs.

Your choice. If you are visiting from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, nothing beyond what the site needs to function runs until you choose. You will see a banner asking, and analytics and advertising stay switched off until you accept. Everywhere else these are on by default and you can switch them off at any time from the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in the footer of every page. Your choice is stored on your browser and applies immediately.

Global Privacy Control. If your browser or an extension sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we honour it automatically and switch off advertising and sharing before any tag loads. You do not need to do anything.

You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Doing so may stop parts of the site working as intended.

The specific services we use, each subject to its own privacy terms: Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4, for website analytics and attribution measurement. GoHighLevel, our customer relationship system, which receives your form submission, stores your contact record, powers the consultation booking calendar embedded on our site, and delivers our text messages. Vercel, for website hosting and the server functions that process our form. Google Maps, which serves the map embedded on our contact page. Gingr, our daycare customer portal, which is a separate system with its own account, terms and privacy policy.

This site does not run session recording, heatmapping, visitor-identification or advertising retargeting technology.

5. How we share your information

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Service providers. The systems named above, plus our payment processor and, where relevant, veterinary or emergency contacts if your dog needs care while with us. These providers may use your information only to provide their service to us.

Legal and safety. Where required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Canine Perspective, our clients, our staff, or the animals in our care.

Business transfers. If the business is sold or reorganized, your information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to the protections in this policy.

6. Data security and retention

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes described here, to meet our legal and veterinary record-keeping obligations, and to resolve any disputes. After that we securely delete or anonymize it.

7. Your rights

Wherever you are, you can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it if it is wrong, or to delete it. You can opt out of marketing messages at any time. We will not treat you differently for asking.

California residents have specific rights under the CCPA and CPRA: to know what we collect and where it came from, to have it deleted, to have it corrected, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of them. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined, and the opt-out control in our footer is provided regardless so the choice is genuinely yours.

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time, which you can do from the same footer link.

To make a request, use the contact details at the end of this policy. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it.

8. Children's privacy

Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly.

9. Links to other sites

Our site links to third-party sites, including our Google Business Profile, Yelp, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and the Gingr portal. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before sharing information with them.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices, the tools we use, or the law. When we do we will change the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
