We don't do party tricks. Training here is about the behavior that's making your life smaller. The lunging, the barking, the bite risk, the dog you can't walk past another dog. We build calm, then obedience, then reliability, in that order.
Every program starts with a consultation, because the honest answer to "can this dog change?" depends on the dog in front of us. You'll leave that conversation knowing what's realistic, what it takes, and what it costs.

Jesse San Miguel has trained dogs in Chicago since 2010 and has run Canine Perspective since 2012. He apprenticed under Richard Heinz, the Miami Dog Whisperer, and is known locally as the Chicago Dog Whisperer. Aggression and reactivity are his specialty, not a service line he added.

Used correctly, yes. We introduce the tool at low levels the dog barely notices, always paired with something the dog already understands, never as punishment. It's one tool among several, and we explain exactly how and when we use it on our methods page.

It can be in person at our facility or Oz Park, or over Google Meet. Where the consultation is held is dependent on Jesse's schedule for the day.
We guarantee honesty and real work. Any trainer who guarantees to 'cure' aggression is selling you something. We'll tell you what's achievable for your specific dog before you commit a dollar.
It lasts if it's maintained. We build the dog and then teach you how to keep it, because you're the one who lives with the dog. Follow-up and clear homework are part of every program.
We're at 2926 W Lake St, Chicago, IL 60612, in West Town on the city's West Side. We're open Monday through Friday, 7am to 7pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 6pm.
Yes. We run door-to-door transportation for daycare, boarding, and training clients, from Irving Park to the South Loop and from Belmont Cragin to the Lakefront. Your dog has to be approved for transport before you book.
West Town, West Loop, Wicker Park, Logan Square, Bucktown, Humboldt Park, Ukrainian Village, Lincoln Park, Garfield Park, and Oak Park, among other areas across Chicago's West Side and near-north side.
