Summer means cold drinks and frozen treats. Do you ever think your pup may appreciate a cold treat, too? Unfortunately, our frozen treats are typically loaded with sugar and artificial flavors and colors, so I wouldn’t suggest sharing these with Fido!

Here are some ideas to help your dog stay just as cool as you!

Pupsicles! There are endless ways to make these!

First, choose your base: Raw goats milk, kefir, plain Greek yogurt, or bone broth.

Next, add some flavor! You can mix and match and experiment all you’d like! Here are some ideas: Berries, pumpkin, sweet potato, carrots, kale, banana, peanut butter, small freeze dried treats, pieces of kibble.

After that, pour into ice cube trays or popsicle molds.

Optional: Add an edible “stick” like carrots, celery, asparagus, small “No-Hide” chews or small bully sticks.

Frozen raw bones: raw bones are nature’s toothbrush! These are a fantastic natural way to keep your dog busy and cool while also cleaning their teeth. Size appropriate marrow bones, turkey necks or femur bones are a few favorites. Chicken feet and necks can be give frozen as a chew for small dogs!

Freeze your toys!

If your pup likes to bring their toys outside to play, try soaking them in water and putting them in the freezer. A frozen rope toy serves a dual purpose now!

Congratulations, you officially have the coolest pup in town!
